SATURDAY, MARCH 14, 10 AM – 3 PM & MARCH 28, 10 AM – Noon

This beginning weaving class will have you weaving on a Rigid Heddle Loom to weave a scarf.  No prior experience is required, just a passion for fibers.   You will start the project in class and then take the loom home to finish weaving the scarf.  Return in two weeks to remove the scarf from the loom and twist the fringe.

PROJECT -Finished size  7” x 65" scarf plus fringe in one or two colors.

SKILL LEVEL -Absolute Beginner

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN - How to calculate the amount of yarn for a project, to warp a loom using the direct warping method, to weave in plain weave, to hemstitch, and to learn general weaving terminology.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE - None! You don't need any weaving experience to take this class. Must be 10 years or older.

CLASS FEE:  $80.00 + yarn purchased from Yarned & Dangerous which includes the use of a 10–16" rigid heddle loom with an 7.5 dent heddle, 1–2 stick shuttles, 3 clamps, warping peg, threading hook, warping paper, and tapestry needle for two weeks. Yarn is extra.

A student can bring their own loom to the class.  Please make sure it is assembled and in working condition with an 8- or 7.5-dent heddle, 3 clamps, warping peg and threading hook.  Class fee - $60.00 + yarn purchased from Yarned & Dangerous.

REQUIRED YARN - to be purchased from Yarned & Dangerous.
300 yards total of worsted weight yarn (#4). You can use one or two colors of the same yarn. (This is not included in the class fee)
